This is a complete listing of the 184 letters from the personal papers of Gov. Charles Robinson held in the Kansas State Archives at the Kansas Historical Society that were identified as pertaining directly to Robinson's time at Haskell and were used in the development of this website. These letters were photographed by Jancita Warrington and indexed and transcribed by Travis Campbell in 2018. Wants permission for her sister to substitute for her as their mother is in poor health.

Sending daughter, Frances L. Townsend, to Haskell that it might be a benefit to her and get her away from "hoodlums." Wants her to have nothing to do with young men so that she can appear in good society.

Suggests sending transportation to Pawnee for potential students. More potential students with other guardians. Tired of working for women and would like to apply at Haskell.

Poncas making progression towards civilization. Peairs wrote him stating that Haskell will have more students than it can accommodate. Asks R. to consider stopping making education compulsory for Indian children.

"Uncle" George Beech to get children to attend Haskell, many are anxious to go. She is ready to return to school, visited with Josephine Pryor at Osage Agency.

Enclosed copy of letter to Commissioner of Indian Affairs asking for consent to remove Lizzie Rock from Haskell and send her home without any inconvenience to anyone. Refers to another similar situation in which he assisted Robinson in sending the boy home.

Wants to return to Haskell, but father wants him to remain at home another year. States that everyone likes Haskell, asks about new building, will pay his own fare to Haskell.

Wants her daughter to come home, went away to Haskell against her mother's will and is not of age. Mother needs her help and cannot get her work done without her.

Many Cheyenne children (22) wanting to go to Haskell, wants Robinson's permission to come sooner than anticipated. Agent says he must ask Department before they can go.

Leaving DC for OK, has 22 names on list for tickets to Haskell, but thinks 20 will be enough. No Arapaho will come until end of medicine and sun dances.
