Raised in Window Rock, Arizona, on the Navajo reservation, Redcloud attended Haskell Indian Nations University in Lawrence, Kansas, eventually settling in Colleyville, Texas.

The Revenant (2015) was Redcloud's first role in a major feature film. Prior to this, he had taken acting classes and was featured in a number of low-budget films. He has gone on to play the role of a Mabo warrior in the HBO series Our Flag Means Death in 2022.
