The Printers' Gallery at Navarre Hall pays homage to the Navarre Hall's rich history as the original home of the printing department at Haskell Institute. This name honors the legacy of craftsmanship, creativity, and the vital role that printing played in the school’s development, connecting the past to the present artistic endeavors. It serves as a meaningful reminder of the building’s historical significance and celebrates the enduring importance of printmaking and visual arts.
Additionally, The Printers' Gallery has the potential to serve as an inviting lobby for Navarre Hall, providing a welcoming space with an information desk to assist visitors and students. As the exterior entrance on the West side is remodeled, this area will become a central hub for orientation, showcasing the building’s artistic and historical significance while offering practical support. This setup would enhance visitor experience, facilitate navigation, and highlight Navarre Hall’s legacy, making it a functional and culturally meaningful entry point for all who enter.
