This is a complete listing of the 184 letters from the personal papers of Gov. Charles Robinson held in the Kansas State Archives at the Kansas Historical Society that were identified as pertaining directly to Robinson's time at Haskell and were used in the development of this website. These letters were photographed by Jancita Warrington and indexed and transcribed by Travis Campbell in 2018. Report on trip to Cheyenne Agency. Some white employees don't want the children to go to Haskell, agent difficult to work with, has over 15 children to bring back, mostly girls.

Wants to go after his brother and sister. Trying to help get Arapaho students. Advises sending Edgar Campbell and Gilbert Holland home due to health. Reminds Robinson of promise to send sick children home.

Does not know when he will be "let out of this place." Has he forfeited his right to be sent home? Would like his money as soon as he is released, believes fare will be $12 or $15.

Why won't Robinson see him? Never mad at teachers or anyone here. Was told to not water the cows, feed them, etc. and that the afternoon boy would and that's why he doesn't feed them in the morning. Girls ate the apples? [Letter difficult to read.]
