Ex. Gov. C. Robinson
Sup. Haskell Institute
Dear sir--Mr. Cloyd McCoonse is very weak & probably will not be much longer. It is his desire to see his children, Eliza, Anna, & Mary, who are at your school, once more.
He send the horse to bring the children if you will let them come to remain for about two weeks.
Then these children return to your Institute their parents would like, also, to send another little boy, about nine years old who, seems to have quite a talent for drawing and molding. Please let them know, if you have room for him, or whether you will take him at that time.
I have tried to persuade Rufus Caleb and Oscar McCoonse to return to the Institute, but so far, without avail. They do not appear to like being restrained in any way. I have neither self-respect nor energy enough to stick to what they must certainly know to be for their good.
Sincerely Yours,
Chas. Steinfort
